JB weld can hold for awhile. Done it in the bush. Another bush trick, clean out the fins around the hole, cut the tube, roll up the tube so it won't leak. It won't cool THAT much worse minus one tube and it'll hold you over for awhile. Seen both of these done on ugly 4x4's but never T-M's

It is an auto. How long can I leave it without a cooler? I don't tow anything and I'm doing very very short trips 5-10 km max.

you MUST have a trans cooler, it will not live without one. most trans failures are due to too much heat. limping it home is one thing but not driving it around.

I see. Wonder how big a trans cooler I need then. I want to tow stuff with the truck eventually.

    Re: Hole in rad

In the '88 B250 van i use to tow all my cars i went with a large one. i had all the room i needed so i had no problem with the install. on something like a trans cooler bigger is better. it will also help with making the engine run cooler too because you are not using the radiator to cool the trans too.

    Re: Hole in rad

Well the engine should already be cooler and I think that is part of the reason why the thinner but longer z24 cavvy rad is working so well. Trans cooler time..... Should have one kicking around. Have to fix dad's water pump on LeSabre though

if you have a propane torch you can solder it. a very solid fix.
