I just bought a 88 shelby csxt and built it from the ground up it came with no motor or transmition so i bought a new one for it is also converted to t2 it has a 782 fast burn head with a new roller cam on it i thought would stop the rocker arms from poping out but it didnt it has poped out a total of 8 time and im am getting tierd of it can someone plz help me out with any info on why this is happening.
Try another set of roller rocker arms and lifters?
we had this problem with our glh.....back three owners...............
solution was simple..........have a good machine shop throw on some good matched springs.........they should be able to dead match that cam to that head with springs...
we used comp cam springs.....come to think of it we have a set of 8 springs....ask them what size you need for the cam/head

Is that valve closing fully? Maybe a damaged valve seat or guide is causing the valve to hang and taking the tension off the follower?

My vote is bad lifter, weak or bad valve springs or sticking valve.

yea i just put new rocker arms and the lifter out of a srt4 they work great but i dont know cause thats a brand new head the only thing i did to it was take the slider cam out and put a roller in it im think about puting the slider back in a putting my Adjustable Cam Sprocket on it to but i dont know i probly will check the spring and everything. thank you guys for the advise. by the way im Tom Bouska'a son if anyone know him mrcsx55 i think his name is on here.

Did you shim up the SRT lifters, if you didn't, thats your problem, no lifter preload.
Also, did you use the roller rockers with the roller cam?

I would like to introduce my son to all. He is the originator of this thread. I got him into TD's before he bought a hounda. I have been busy at work and full time school. I havn't had the time to fully dig into the problem. I have my ideas what is wrong. I put a roller cam, pt lifters, roller rockers, and shims in it. I am breaking him into the maintenance and up keep of a used car to give him the experience owning a car.
