5th gear shift fork? on an a555

I was putting my a555 back together and the threads were damaged somehow on the 5th gear shift fork that the little set screw goes into. Does any know the size of tap I need to chase the threads? If not I'm going to try taking a drill bit and removing the first two threads so that I can get the set screw to start.

Got it straightened out it was a 1/4-28, Tranny is all back together and I'm waiting for a break in the rain to get it put back in.
