out of town and the dash lights quit

Car is a 90 Sundance.

I checked the fuses and all are ok. Figured it could be the headlight switch so bought one and swapped it out. Still no dash lights.

Park lights and headlights work on either switch.

Have I missed something or do I now have to dive into the dash to go after wiring issues (when I get home)?

swapped the headlight switch with a new one and still no dash lights

The only time I've ever had that happen was when I had a short. It kept popping the dash light fuse. I put a new fuse in and when I pulled the light switch, POP! Are you certain the fuse is good? Maybe something got unplugged. Maybe a wire came loose.

It does sound like the dash light fuse to me or a wiring issue. The rheostat in the headlight switch feeds a fuse, 4A I think, that feeds the dash light circuit.

Yeah I've replaced the fuse with a new one and still no go.

I'll go after it when I'm back home. A few hours of driving without gauges wont kill me...well it is an excuse if I get pulled over..."I have no idea how fast I was going....honest"

Have you checked your taillights? Check them to see if they work!

buy a small flashlight and duct tape it to bottom corner of guages........sweet.

oh yeah that'll do it! I'll have to paint the gauges while so they show up better...
