    first Turbo Mopar-where to start-10psi??

alright now I looked at a 1986 600 convertable, she's got 120k on her and she's been well taken car of, Ive been through the whole Turbo Ford thing but have yet to enjoy Turbo Dodge, I'l be buying her tomorrow if I feel im ready, she's going to be my daily driver so Im not trying to go crazy but I definately would like to sqeeze some easy power out of her, say I wanted to run high 14's with $300 where would I start, and where can I find the best performance parts for the buck, Im trying to get as much info as I can from actual inthusiest, I read up for a bit but would like to here as much as I can before making the final decision, she's got the 2.2 turbo, non intercooled, also whats the cheapest and safest way to intercool this motor, pretty much I really want to know the best bang for the buck and where to start, any info would help and I look forward to being a new Turbo Dodge owner.

the easiest way to intercool it is the t2 conversion which involves swapping the intake manifold and and computer, and modifying or swapping the exhaust manifold or turbo and doing some wiring. the swapo is outlined on the turbo database at http://thedodgegarage.com/ a t2 swap should get youin the high 14's

Your not going to get high 14's for $300, unless your getting parts for free and gutting the car.

Aside from that, make sure everythings in good shape, hoses, tune-up stuff etc. Best bang for your buck right now is a Manual Boost Controller or MBC, good 2.5 mandrel bent exhaust either with no cat or a hi flow unit. Set the MBC to 10 ish psi, run premium and you'll have some fun. If its an auto, you should do a service, adjust the bands, shift kit and a little more line pressure, bigger trans cooler. I am sure I am missing more but thats a good start.

Did you see what I wrote? You can if you gut the car, get free parts. Sorry but $300 and a fully streetable car isn't going to happen.

I think 13's in a log car would be doable for under 300, if you can fab your own parts.

    3inch side exit-cheap to free
    Home grown water injection free-$100
    MBC set to 14psi-$10-20
    Decent set of used tires-$50

Im at $170! SprayinLog went 14's with that recipe!

I think it can be done, just not reliably.

I think it could be done reliably, but it would probably need to be done by someone with some tuning experience for it to work well on that budget. An elcheapo alky setup would cost next to nothing, and that would be the key to do it on the cheap and easy IMO.

Your not going to get a log car into the 13's without some form of major weight reduction and your going to need more than 14 psi of boost.
