    FS: 1987 Daytona Shelby Z TII w/2.5L

This is one of my old cars, that I sold my good friend Wayne, and I'm listing on his behalf.

Here's a quick breakdown of what it is/what it's got:

    • 1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z TII
    • 176K miles on the body, and since the car is from the NW, there is NO RUST(only a little surface rust on the bumper mount above the muffler)
    • Sunroof car, with the sunroof bag and tie downs in the back
    • Mopar reman 2.5L TI that I pulled from an '89 Turbo Mini(unknown miles, but it's got good oil pressure, the cylinder walls looked really good when I installed it, and it's had nothing but Mobil 1 synthetic since Wayne bought it from me)
    • Fresh MP HG/Head Bolts when engine was installed
    • +20% FFV injectors/Stock TII ECU
    • Magnecor spark plug wires
    • Garrett Reman turbo(from the J/Y, but it was VERY nice when installed, and has NO issues)
    • T/U stainless braided turbo oil/coolant lines
    • 1G DSM BOV in the lower hose(stock un-cut lower hose will come with the car)
    • 11" brakes all the way around w/stainless braided lines
    • '90 small spline 3.50fd A523
    • Booger Bushings
    • '89-90 lightweight front spindles
    • Energy Suspension Poly lower control arm bushings
    • Motor Mounts filled with 3M Window-Weld
    • Of course, it still has the 2 piece intake
    • K&N drop in panel filter
    • "Tuff" steering wheel, in the hard to find gray
    • Premium cloth interior, w/Power Enthusiast seat
    • EQ cassette Radio from '93-ish Minivan
    • I think he will also include his factory LeBaron/Daytona CD player, w/all of the mounting brackets and cable.
    • Clutch has less than 15K on it
    • Toyo Proxes 4 225/50R15 tires, with LOTS of tread
    • Slim Fan from an '89 3.0L Spirit
    • A/C removed(he had a few plans for the car)
    • S10 Air dam
    • The doors DO NOT sag, and are very easy to open/close.

    A few small issues:
    • Clear coat fade on the nose(big surprise, lol), but other than that, the paint is really nice, for the age of the car.
    • Cooling fan relay/wiring has an intermittent problem(part of the reason he hasn't put it up for sale yet, he wants to fix it, and hasn't taken the time to do it, but for the price, with all the other stuff the car has, I figure it's still a good deal, lol)
    • Cargo cover is messed up, because a friend of his decided to throw a bag of dog food back there thinking that the cover was a shelf, so I think it also needs a new back panel, since it ripped one of the hooks off.

$1500 - He just wants it sold at this point, and would like to see it go to an enthusiast in the hobby.

Car is located in Lake Stevens, WA, 1hr North of Seattle, no delivery is offered.

Ok, here are some pics: The car has yet to be washed and the interior cleaned, but I wanted to get it listed for him.

I wish it was closer to Indiana...for that amount of cash I'd buy it just to switch the drivetrain to Matchbox!

Dude. Its even got the black deflector on the bottom. I don't think I've seen one of those still attatched in quite some time. thats a really clean car. Good deal for sure.

Oh that's not factory, that's an Air Dam from an S10.

It works VERY well for keeping the coolant temps down while moving.

Wayne said he hasn't touched it, all he did was add the breather filter.

I loved the sunroof in my daytona, easily pops out real quick. The one in the shadow isn't meant to come out like that, but it can if you take the one bolt out and it's a pita to remove. Plus the shadow one is a lot bulkier and heavier.
This seems like a really nice car, especially for the money. And who can find a no rust WA car? Must have been garaged!

Car's don't rust in WA because we don't use SALT when it snows

It may be really wet here in WA, but since we don't use salt, cars don't rust, they merely grow moss on them.

Here in PA they stopped using salt and went to something else. Not sure what it is but it makes cars rust even faster. I've seen 2-3 year old cars with rust on them, and tons with bubbling paint because rust is forming underneath.
So what do you guys use? Nothing? Just plow?
Funny now that I think about it my Daytona was originally from WA state. When I did the carfax on it I was shocked twice, first that it was from WA and somehow got to PA, and second because it had 246K miles in 1997 when the digital dash was replaced so they stopped recording after 97'. I did that carfax in 03', so by then it could have very well had 300K on it but I have no idea.

They use a liquid De-Icer when the forecast calls for freezing temps, then when it snows, they plow and sand the roads.

If you weren't so far away I would be all over this car. Been looking for a 2.5 5 spped car. Sick of driving an auto baron.... Maybe if the barons sold by summer I'll be looking at this car

Nice Daytona! Think how much better looking it would be with a fresh coat of clear If I could get her to Oklahoma I'd be all over her!

The sunroof that was in my 88 was easy to pop out and in, without removing any hardware. I took the whole assembly out of the Shadow when I had it towed away, thinking of putting it on my all option(excluding TI engine) GLH, but undecided at the moment

Fly or take a train to WA and drive it back.. Looks like a dependable car. I would do the same, but back to illinois is a little too far for me.

He drove it 100 miles a day, 5 days a week commuting to work, and it never let him down.

Planes = I can't do it, even if I didn't fear the high distance from the ground
