BTW...the shroud doesn't look too bad. Lord knows I've seen worse.
The top outlet on a GLHS IC is angled twards the passenger side.
The G body is straight out.
    Nice job on this project.
    Looks great.
Now if I can only get my GLHT resto project underway, I'd be a happy guy.

Thanks Marcus. It certainly doesn't look anywhere near as clean as yours, but I think considering its going to be a daily driver I wont feel too bad.

    Re: Operation: Omni

Driving the Omni in the first real heat of the year turned out to be quite the experience. Lets just say I had to pull off the road and temporarily fix my "custom" lower radiator hose FOUR times in about five miles to get the car home! Although when the only tools I could come up with to fix it was a quarter, a roll of duct tape, and two bottle of water, I guess I am not surprised. Anyone have a part umber for a lower radiator hose that will fit a T2 radiator in an L body?

i dont have the part # but i can tell you that hose is like find the Holy Grail. forget about new/NOS/reproduction. you'll have to look for a used one, or, fab up something.

sorry your 1st drive didnt go exactly as planned but i'm sure you'll get the bugs worked out.

Funny thing is that it wasn't the first drive, it was like the seventh or something. I do have a lot of issues to go over though.

At this point you could almost talk me into it. Actually my blue one will be for sale some time this year after I get a good motor swapped into it. I have sort of grown fond of the red one.

"....The full 3" makes about everything in the car rattle. ....."

thats odd. do the pipes actually hit the underside of the car anywhere? most omnis owners i know who install the 3" setup have great results w/ no rattling, its important to use the factory hangers at the correct locations.

dont give up thats a nice car.

Actually, it is kind of strange. The full 3" exhaust is actually a lot quiter than when I only had the 3" catback exhaust, but the full 3" causes a lot of rattles in the dash. I havn't given up on the car, I just wont drive it daily untill I have the time to fix all the annoying stuff.

I wouldve gave up my left arm for this GLHT before you converted it to TII! Ive wanted a stock TI GLHT to be my DD while I play with my '84 GLH IMSA spec on the weekends!

However I have a rough shape TII SC and it is a blast! So I understand the swap completely!

What is this blue one you speak of? I must have some pics and info lol. I'm looking for a omni in good shape to play with. Theres no reason for you to go through all that trouble of puting a good motor in it when all I'm gonna do is take it back out. In less of course its a TIII then we're on the same page lol

Haha, actually I toyed with the idea of putting my extra T3/568 into the blue one, but in the end I just dont have the time or the desire right now. The blue one is ins't in as good of shape as my red one, but its still pretty solid.

    Here it is.
