I need to cut the top bolts to get my rear shocks off, and I'd like to be able to pick up the replacements on my way in to the shop tomorrow. How long/what size should they be?

dont quote me but I think 3/8" grade 8 bolts do OK
There metric, 10mm bolts but 3/8 will work. There aprox 2.5-3 inches long.
