Exclamation *L body Climate Control Vacuum Lines*

When I purchased my car it did not have the Climate Control in the dash Installed. Someone Also cut the Vacuum lines that go to the Climate Controls. I went to the J/Y and got the Climate Control to install but Im not sure where to hook up all those colored vacuum lines. So i need either a picture or a diagram that shows where to hook those vacuum lines in there respective spot on the controls.. Thanks.

Well, I know that the colred lines run to the HVAC box, and that most of them terminate at a plug with a certain shape (at least it was that way on my shadow). You really don't need to hook them up at all if you don't mind having defrost only.

I Know im not going to have to connect all of those, but I would like to hook up what I can since I have it all out...

If I can get the brakes to function when I go back out there in a couple of minuets I just might try.

I had the same issue until I just made it so I have heat on one setting, but only when I turn it on. If you don't have A/C, don't worry about it. If you do, then it would be necessary. But really, most of the lines just run to the actuators that control defrost, vent and the floor. Two of the lines (the green ones I think, one for sure) controls the damper that will allow or block air coming from the engine bay. Again, I just pretty much blocked this off so my stuff is recirculating all the time. Eventually I'm going to remove that control system completely and just have a switch for On and Off and Low, Medium and High for the fan.

I'll scan in my diagram book and post shortly.

Here is the scan. Note the lack of explanation of which solenoid is which....

Not very clear to me, hopefully someone can provide some insight.

Well you can call me one day and tell me where to put my lines, for the time being and I'll help with the wiring.

Looking into the multi colored female connector

    ------ (Red) (Purple) (Brown)------
    (empty) (lt-green) (yellow) (dk-green)

The red line on the male (control side) is plugged, it does not connect to the red line on the other side but rather to the empty spot (on the same side as the red on the top but not to the same port.

I had this problem a while back so I got a couple of connectors from the yard and still have one in my pile of junk to look at.

It looks like your red on the female side is orange but everything else is the same.

So my diagram should actually look like this...?

    ------ (ORANGE) (Purple) (Brown)------
    (empty) (lt-green) (yellow) (dk-green)

Yes that is what I meant.

The main thing is that the red/orange does not connect to the red on the other side (just to be confusing).
