Well I tried T1 boost control and get no boost control at all. Very odd. I have the wastegate solenoid hooked up to the top horizontal barb then run over to a tee one side to the wastegate and one to a orifice then turbo nipple.

The bottom nipple needs to be capped. If both the top and bottom are vented, then nothing changes when the solenoids opens/closes...

Another quick question. Was there a fueling change from say V14 to V19? The car seems to be running richer at idle. I have yet to weld in my WB bung.

Not specifically. What injectors, and MAP are you running? Cheap eBay 3-bar MAP by chance?

Running 2 bar stock map and have scaled cal for the +20's.

Trying to burn a v19.6 and keep getting an error. Burn device verification failed. try again.

I can read the chip and burn the cal that is on the the chip after an erase but cannot burn the chip with a new cal. 2 hours now and I'm nowhere. I have tried everything. Drivers, chip orientation, different chip....man somedays just dont work out.

That's not related to the cal itself.

What burner, chip, settings, etc? And, what file are you trying to burn? A .bin file, I hope. The .tpl cannot be burned directly to the chip. It has to be compiled first.

I am trying to burn a stage II .bin file and have had no trouble in the past so I must be not holding my mouth right. Its a moates burn 2 and I have compiled the file.

Moates burn 2 is the easiest burner I've ever use.

    Try a different USB cable.

ok so I had two bad chips. What are the odds of that?
Anyway after I got the cal burned I cannot get computer controlled boost. Seems the lack of computer controlled boost is a systemic issue that others have experienced too. Added a cap to the bottom of the wastegate solenoid and that did nothing. Then I moved the cap to the top and got computer controlled boost a couple of times and then back to no control of boost. Added a grainger and have boost as expected. I would LOVE to get computer controlled boost to work some day.

Many of the STT 27sf512 chips going around right now are fakes, these chips will burn once ok but are unable to erase properly. Check out your chips and see if yours are fake.

edit: All the chips I have ever gotten from boostbutton or moates are the real deal.

I get all mine from Xenocron; who get them from Moates. So, basically, all the good chips come from Moates...

    Re: Turbonator SMEC codebase

    yep. fake chip. SOB!

    Oh well.

So tried some more stage 3 today. Let the car idle to hopefully learn idle but it would sit there idle like a champ then all of a sudden it would stutter and belch black smoke out the pipe. Then give it a second and bang back to normal idle. The car has no idle issue with stage 2. Rock solid. Free rev in stage 3 seems better than stage 2.

Is there any harm in scaling the stage 2 for 3 bar map and +20's then up the boost to say 16 psi? I think there are things in stage 2 I like better than stage 3.
