    Re: Turbonator SMEC codebase

Really been slacking on trying this stuff out. I need to move my flash switch inside so it's not too much trouble to flash. I have however been trying something interesting with the "bang bang" limiter. If I take my rpms up to 5k before shifting and I hit the staging limiter at the same time as the clutch (speed shutoff disabled) I can leave my right foot planted and bang it into the next gear with a loud double pop out of the exhaust and no loss of boost. How hard would it be to add something like this to the code for flatshifting? Sometimes the staging limiter does't work because it only drops the rpm to 4k, if the computer were to use a lower limiter for shifting the stress on the transmission would be greatly reduced. I would think this could be accomplished with just a separate set of staging limiter controls with another switch, not sure if the computer could handle it though.

Like install a clutch switch and have it trigger timing retard above a set rpm?

That's the next step. And then traction control after that.

I should mention that the problem with the switchable boost and launch boost was there even if you didn't have these 2 enabled. It was a lookup problem. So, if you are having any boost control issues, please DL v19.5 and re-assemble your cal. You won't need to update your template if it's at least from v19+.

How do you transplant your cal from one version of Turbonator to the next? I've always just rebuilt it from scratch by using the compare function to overlay my old cal so I can match tables. Is there an easier way?

Like from T-smec 19.4 to 19.5. I've just been downloading the newest version to a separate folder, open the base cal I use and compare it to the cal I made with the previous version and matched the tables manually.

From 19.4 to 19.5, you just need to use the new .asm. Nothing in the templates changed.

So what would the procedure be exactly? Download 19.5 to a new folder, or overwrite to the existing folder?

You can DL the 19.5 .zip, and just pull the .asm file out and replace the current .asm in whatever folder you're working in; open the .tpl in MP Tune and re-compile...

Ive tried a couple times and I don't think the rev limiter is working. I have it set at 6000 rpm but I took it all the way up to 7k before I let off. I've tried different cals all based off the 19.5 codebase with the sane result.

    Whoa, missed this.

You mean the regular rev limiter doesn't work?

Free rev in neutral? Or while driving? Both?
