Anyone had this done? I have a great looking t3-t4 clutch kit but the pressure plate has a small amount of glazing. Just wondering.

He asked about the pressure plate, not the flywheel...

Yeah pressure plate.
Honestly, a new T3 pressue plate is about $75. It's not just the surface that wears out on a pressure plate. Plus if you surface it you are increasing the gap between the disc and the pressure plate, this effectively decreases the clamping pressure. I would get a new plate.
wow i need to quit getting up and jumping online before i have my coffee
^^^
The kit may have a few hundred miles on it. but I may just get a new one.
How about some pics? Any discoloration on the plate indicating extreme heat? Could be warped if it does.
Just get a ceramic 4 or 6 puck disc and don't worry about it.
what about just taking the glaze off with a scotch brite pad?? i did that to mine after it sat in the garage over winter uninstalled... got a little surface rust/spots on it from condensation. not the same as glazing, but i bet a scotch pad would dull it up again without removing enough material to make a difference in clamping pressure. just a thought.
If it really has that low mileage, I've done a bead blast on the plate and run it If it's in the budget for new, of course that's better...

If there are no ridges and its flat, I use a die grinder with a sanding disc and just rough it up. Also do this on flywheels and NEVER had a problem,

Ditto on the bead blasting.

would a sandblast not work the same with a very fine sand?
