    88 lebaron -vs- 89 Iroc-Z

    To start it off i own a 88 chrysler lebaron TII Turbo. It has a 3" exhaust, stage 3 cal 15psi..that all. The race was with my brother's fully stock 89 Iroc z28 only thing it has is an exhaust. the reason i raced was to figure out what my car ran cause last time at the track i didn't do so good. But for a fact my brothers Camaro ran 15 flat. we want on a industrial road were their are no cops, people, or cars and NO intersection except for one but thats on the other side of the road.
    My first run i didn't do so hot, I missed third. The second run was my best run, i let the clutch out at 2,500 Rpms and had instant spool and my car was peeling out 1st, 2nd and part of 3rd but i was right next to by brother the whole time soon as i hit 4th i was about to pull on him but the race finished and the road was gonna end.

    I am very pleased with the results. I didn't expect that to happen, i know with a set of good tires im definitely in the high 14's. I've driven my brother Iroc and that is a badA$$ ride not only is it fast but its such a chick magnet too.the only thing i hate about it is its an automatic.

    305 or 350 camaro? Was it a TPI?

    Strange, I thought those Late 80's IROC's only did a mid 15 at best.

    The TPI 350's with intake and exhaust were in the high 14's with good traction.

    its a 89 tune port MPI 350 with the 700R4.

    An auto will run like 15 flat, did he have any mods?

    cat back Exhaust only with a K&N and better coil pack i guess but i dont count that. with some somewhat sticky BRgoodrichs and i only had my hard compound snow tires. hahah

    Iroc z28 i though never came stick. Thats why people went with the RS 305.

    OK I'm not sure how I missed but I just re-read the beginning of your thread and you already said he had exhaust and runs 15 flat. Sorry for making you repeat yourself.
    Anyway, I'm not 100% familiar with camaro's was there a Z28 and then the iroc-Z? Because I know I've seen older mid 80's iroc-Z28's that were stick, friend of mine has an 85 or 86 I can't remember but it was a carbed 305 which was about the slowest thing on the planet.

    89 TPI 350 and his best ET is a 15? Man, that motor must REALLY be tired....

    It had the corvette spec motor(B2L/L98 V8) and was rated at 240@4400 hp and 345@3200 tq.

    They were either z28 or Irocz28 some came TP 305 5spd or 350TP auto

    YA i know they do better. My brother didn't really take it to the limit. But your right that car is capable of 14's easy.

    My buddy had an 87 350 car. Exhaust and intake ran a best of 13.9... We both went to the track expecting to beat the other guy. I was in the Grand Prix... ran side by side 14.3's 1st pass. Gave each other the "WTF" look... by the end of the day we had walked them down to 14.0's... 96-98mph

    I've heard to get the maximum chick magnet potential out of an IROC Z, you gotta grow your Mullett really long

    the mullet machines lol!!!! ive never seen one yet that was quick.whether it was a tpi car 305,350 whatever.i remember one i raced with my 05 focus zx3 with an intake and exhaust.the camaro was a tpi 305 5speed car.i put about 10 cars on the camaro with a FOCUS.LOL suprised alot of people in that egg.
