    Look! Fiberglass hood for GLH

    Hi everybody,

    first excuse my poor english

I added a couple of pics of buddy new compagny product. He is a specialist in molding part for car, custom pain and airbrush. He can do hood, airbrush, custom side effect, scoop.... almost anything ...You never see something like this on the planet..

    What he have do :
    1. Mold my original glh hood
    2. create a fiberglass hood in the mold
    3. work on the 3 dimension
    4. prime, putty and base coat
    5. airbrush
    6. 10 clearcoat layer
    7. polishing for finish

We still have the mold for the GLH hood, the hood can be standard whitout add on..just a plain hood.

Let me how if you like the work!

    Guillaume

Very nice! Is it any lighter than the factory hood?

Funny, I've been toying with the idea of making a fiberglass (or carbon fiber) hood for the Omni, I have a few ideas I'd like to try.... Curious as to how much they would cost? Mostly just curious, I have to think shipping would be a real problem.

those add-on things are way cool to check out at car shows.

i'd actually be intersted in a standard one maybe... what's the price of these bad-boys?? just standard, ready to paint. or is he doing CF as well? not for the 'rice-effect' just weight/strength.

Nice product, I'm sure there are buyers on here who would pull the trigger if they knew how much it will be.

Re: Look! Fiberglass hood for GLH

All depand on how many hood we have to do. The worst part of the job is to do the Mold. If we only have one order for a specific hood, we have no choice to increase the price because we have to work on the Mold. Once the mold is done, it's more easy to have more realistic price. The price range for a plain hood just primmed is around 450-500$ . If we have to do a mold, add around 100$ more for the first hood production.

My GLH mold is not useable beacause there some imperfection on my original hood, there was a big curve on the top of the hood and my buddy have work hard time to get it perfect. So , we need to do another mold for Omni. Anyway not a big problem.

For the Show n' shine hood , is around 1000-1500$...for the complete job. If you want small 3D effect it will be more like 1000-1200...but in my case i have a lot of 3D so i have a hood of 1500 $.

Anyway , my buddy website will be on very shortly and you will be able to email him and have more info.

Thank you and i wainting for your comment
