Considering what's been done in the last few years, low 9's or 8's shouldn't be an issue Gary.

From the quick look I have been able to see, looks like manifold tech has advanced to made some gains in that area.

I should touch base with you in a few weeks Brian, work on "this winters project" might be done ahead of time and Andy and I have been discussing working on the getting the chassis done for the Reliant. Initial goals are modest, get the platform sorted out and then start working on getting fresh power out of the 8V SOHC. Doing the math very deep into the 9's is possible, was actually shooting for high 8's before Heather and I parted company.

Spent the last 4 years trying to get caught up on a number of projects and get the house settled, be nice to hit the track again. Even picked up a trailer last year and got the truck sorted out for towing duty.

Was thinking the exact same thing here...on the axle only, I don't see how there is any benefit unless it's preloaded/angled such that the bar wheels were actually carrying a portion of the cars weight and you added a ton of spring rate to the back.

If they're only touching the rear axle all they'll do is negate any compliance in the sidewall of the rear tires.

The wheelbase is 96". If the bars are 48" long, and the front end lifts 2" when launching, then the wheelie bar wheels will go down 1"; if the rear end is very stiff. The body will generally rotate around the rear axle.

Obviously, with a linkage, that 1" could be amplified greatly.

I can pull out my suspension books but if you know COG and COG height we cand find weight transfer to the rear wheels. "Wheelie bars" effectively lengthen the wheelbase reducing the amount of weight transferred.

Would you happen to have a set of scales Rob? If you measure corner weights on a level surface then raise the front of the car a known height then weigh again, I have a formula to fing COG height.

Wilson Manifolds make some for Hondas, a quick google search should bring up some pics. I made a manifold like this a few years back but have not been able to test it out, so I wanted to try one on the BSX for this year.

Red Sled has been running one for a few years now...DCR built. Wooters for remembering stuff posted that long ago.

The idea behind the improved intake seems to be optimizing all the power you can out of the class regulated turbo size. Not a big deal with you live without rules IMO.

You know it ;-) I tagged along with Mike Marra to etown and ran a 8.50 on 10 psi. Unfortunately I lost to mike when he drove past me at the 1000' mark. He went 8.32@177. Go 707! Lol
