    Removing oil pan baffling

I have a few oil pans that I would like to remove the stock oil pan baffles on the inside of the pan. I want to remove them so I can get them really clean and I may even powder coat them when I'm done. What is the best way of removing these without damaging the pan?

    That sound reduction junk ?

I started at an edge and peeled the stuff back. when coming to a spot weld either cut around it with some tin snips and keep peeling it off (use a cutoff wheel to smooth it down after) or just keep rolling the stuff over and theres a 50/50 chance the weld will just break clean & flush.

The cutoff wheel works real well. I grind the spot weld areas first then go to peelin off. Purty easy, and a lil messy; That stuff behind there gets real nasty

They are sound deadening panels, OE's way of trying to reduce NVH.

I can honestly say with them gone, I notice zero difference.

    That's because your young.

When I was 16, I used to drive an old 78 Civic, no sound deadening, solid mounts, 2 inch exhaust with only a glasspack, today, that would drive me insane,
