I have a clicking noise in my 89 Tona Shelby Z. I swapped ouT the lifters and it's still there, so the next thing is to check the cam wear. Does anyone know the wear limit for the 2.5L TII?

Could it be a noisy injector? If no one posts up before I get home I'll look up specs in my FSM.
I've done the wrap the injectors in a rag trick to try and eliminate that possibility but no such luck. It could still be them so we may just swap them out.
use a mechanical stethoscope to isolate the noise
The lobes are easy to tell, look for pitting or the roller chewing into the lobe. It could also be the bearings in the heads are chewed up from lack of oil. I have honestly found most of the noise comes from the lifter bores, they seem to wear and some heads are noisey some aren't. I put one head on my van, it had a constant tick/rap, drove me insane. I changed out the cam, lifters and rockers arms, nothing. Ended up putting another head on using the replaced cam items, and no noise.

1+^ Does sound like what could be happening but will have to check injectors first.
FWIW the FSM doesn't give a wear limit on the journals. I says 1.395/1.396" on the bearing journals and .010" wear limit on the lobes.
And +1 on what Simon said. I too have a certain head that is noisier than others. Been wondering what that was all about!
