    Early Overboost

I found my old cut out raiser laying around the other day and me thought a kool idea to turn the boost up on my Acclaim. But for some unfortunate reason it hits overboost at 11.5-12psi.

I had it to 14psi before the cut out raiser was installed, over the summer. The only difference in my setup then, I was running a SSQV BOV.

Now I removed the BOV because I accidently knocked it off its flange. Well it shouldn't have been that easy, I thought. I install a hard pipe in its place and go for a drive and the tires start frying then I hit shutdown. It was obvious to me now that I had a huge boost leak from that crappy Ebay POS!

Last night I cranked the g-valve completely out and it got to about 10psi but shutdown at 11psi. That's another issue that I can figure out, no problem. But why the early overboost?? I don't live in high elevation. That's the only thing I could think that would cause overboost so early.

Also, I could only turn the cut out point up to 12psi with the cut out raiser, but that was with it nearly all the way out. Concerned for fuel, I decided to figure out what was wrong first before trying to crank it up.

    Thanks for any help,
    -Bryan

I have bleeds on both. The G-valve is on the WG, cut out raiser is on the MAP. I think maybe it was too close, so I will try it again but in the middle of the MAP and the tee off the intake.

Ah, okay. I guess I should start looking at other related problems, like fuel or ignition.

How are things going for you, Pete? I haven't heard from you in forever.

It's a tee, I can install it either direction, I thought. The bleed is on the top, if that's what you're asking.

Haven't checked codes yet, should check for 45. I'll go out and do that soon. It's been nice out and I've been driving my VW.
