    2006 holset he351 "they've grown"

I bought another Holset HE351 off ebay, it's supposed to be the factory turbo off a 2006 dodge diesel. The compressor housing looks the same as the older ones with the 90 degree angled outlet. But it looked bigger so I dug out an older he351 (2003) and set them side by side. The compressor housing is definatly larger and so is the compressor wheel. Here are some rough measurements of the compressor wheel size. These measurements are not exact but they are taken from the same points on both wheels.

    2006 HE351 2.31 inducer 3.3 exducer 1.25 tall
    2003 HE351 2.16 inducer 3.0 exducer 1.16 tall

The hot side wheel measures the same on both and other than a thicker t3 flange the turbine housing looks the same size.
Sorry if this is old news but it's new to me. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow after work.

Not 100% sure. I bought it as a 2006 HE351. It looks just like the older ones. Maybe they have a new model number for the 2006 model.

Wow, there's definitely a difference. I cannot believe that they have teh same part number with that much. Wallace knows the Holsets, maybe he knows for sure? Is the turbine side larger too?

Turbine side is the same on both just a thicker flange on the newer one, still 9cm. The turbine wheels are the same size on both. The part number on the older one was on the wastegate actuater. I didn't get the actuater with the 2006 turbo.
