Tap sizes to chase threads for rebuild.....

Anyone know the tap sizes I need right off the tops of your heads for the all bolt holes I'll encounter for a rebuild. I did a search, but didn't have much time to comb through all threads brought up. Sorry! It isn't a lazy thing, just a time thing; I wanted to run by the hardware store and Napa before I went home.

Thanks guys, sorry about the inadequate search time.

Don't use a regular tap for chasing threads, you'll weaken them. You need some thread chasers designed for cleaning up threads. The head bolt holes are 11x1.50 mm

    M8 x 1.25 for exhaust/intake threads.

Great. I will grab these, and get chasers not the regular bottom taps. Do you guys use red threadlocker on rod, main and head bolts (studs)?

NO lol!, no threadlocker, use oil or moly lube.

I thank that should read no threadlocker. But you should use oil or moly lube.

With factory style headbolts I use a thin coating of oil on the bolts. If you're using ARP fasteners I believe there are different torque specs depending upon what you lube the threads with.
