Ok, I need to stiffen up the rear end of the omni...... suggestions?

I guess from a lot of comments at Turbopalooza, my GLHT looks like its humping the track when I run. The arse end is squatting a LOT!

So, what are my options for stiffening up the rear end? Im guessing Konis, really stiff springs, air shocks, etc. etc

Im actually thinking of taking the rear end out, bracing it up a bit, and mounting an air bag in the center of the axle. Similar to the Joe O'Connor method of an air shock through the floor, but this would all stay under the car.

    Comments? Suggestions? etc

    Konis are a good start.

Reeves has tried a lot of things. Maybe he will chime in.

For a quick fix, Put 4 of the rubber spring spacers in.. Each side. Will help a bit. But like Matt said... Koni's... and springs. I have the autox springs on mine... Very stiff. But made out of unobtanium anymore.

Clay, pm reeves about his old set-up... He was running 10's with it... he might still have it laying around

I do! Koni's with Direct Connection Auto-x springs and 4 rubber spring spacers.

I tried many setups. I originally had KYB GR2's with stock GLH springs. Then 2 springs spacers per side. Ran that for years. Then as the power went up, the back end went down. So then I tried 4 spring spacers per side. Ran that for a while...more power made the back end squat more. Then I scored a set of the auto-x springs brand new. Ran that for a while. Then I bit the bullet and bought some Koni's and used the auto-x springs. That worked pretty well with the springs spacers installed. Then I tried some other experiments like getting dirt cheap Gabriels and putting on stock springs....not a good setup (trying to see if the backend *worked* more would the front end stick....ended up rubbing the skinnies in the quarters! Ouch!) I tried many variations of stock springs, crap shocks, Koni's, KYB's and the auto-x springs. The best setup before this year was the Koni's with Auto-x springs and 4 springs spacers per side. Then this year I went with Cindy's www.fwdperformance.com Koni and coilover setup for all 4 corners. VERY nice setup gentleman!!!

I did before I made this post! I should have bought the stupid things at SDAC when he had them there.

Hopefully we can swing a deal on em. I need to do something back there!

Ask R/T or Nathan about their "anti gravity device". It keeps the $50 shadow nose down.

I have both the rear unobtanium springs for the rear, nicely mounted on the unobtanium shocks. All for an L.

Boxed and ready to ship BTW.

I have Ground Control coil-converted Koni's on the back of my Horizon. 450lb/in springs. She don't squat no mo'.

Could anybody find out the compressed and extended length of L-body Koni's? It looks like QA1 has some coil-over-shocks that could be made to work.

Friday is no good because you'll be on your way to Maryland.

I won't be making it. GF had to work and I gotta go on another job Sunday. Dammit!

Shocks are temporarily on the car, so it'll have to be a little bit before I get them back off and measure them (when the springs come in).
