    I have a question:

Now...before I start let me say that I am in no way trying to be smart...I am more curious than anything. You seem to be a pretty fart smeller...so in your meticullous engine build did you check to see if you crossed the threshold of the 2.4 being a non-interferrence engine?...as cams being straight up shouldn't have caused any issues.

Not a problem when straight up.. only when the intake cam jumps a few teeth

What cams are you using? I thought with stock cams the 2.4 engines were only valve to valve interferance if the belt were to jump but non-interferance when it came to valve to piston.

The 2.4L spec is for OEM valves and pistons... but the BC3 cam prolly didn't help

Assuming you're at TDC, how did the intake cam jump that direction?

I figured as much. I'm going with Crower 2s this year so that's good to know.

Ouch, so were all of the valves bent? What was wrong with the head or are you sending it our for porting?

Not sure, the peice of serpentine belt that got caught in it wasn't alive to talk about it

I didnt take them out, but all 8 were marked.. no compression on 1 or 4, but I'm prolly gonna change them all for good luck. I sent the head out cuz it needs a valve job anyways and it might need new seats too.

Just think of it as a little more valve clearance. Rev higher in 2010!!!

Yeah I had them all kiss in the aluminum rod motor when it blew up! Check the valves in the valve grinder and they weren't bent...just a kiss

Still waiting to get the head back with new intake valves...

Well JT your cyl head was almost done about a week ago or more however an accident with the milling machine sent the carbide cutter thru the floor of one of the exhaust ports, that's the bad news...... I am truly sorry but it is a rare mistake caused by a cat that likes to chew on wires and left my mill with an interemittent connection before I realized what the problem was....... My girlfriend straightened out the wire while I was looking for the problem and the mill took off traveling downward. ..... Needless to say cat is now a vagabond in the neighborhood.
...so it'll be a different head with new valves.

I was thinking of going Aluminum, but my car is a heavy street car anyways, so I figured SS would be more durable and I hope it will suffice for a while cuz I really dont think I'll be gong any bigger later on, LOL.
