    I would be curious to know the whole story and if it were the synchro teeth that sheered off or something else that let go. All the stories I could find on the net were so vague that you could never get a clear picture, hence my "screw it, just do it" approach.

    It was a stock 2 pin 520 diff, which was what failed when the trans let go at Englishtown. The modified gears/syncros hadn't failed at that point.

    Yah, best to be clear about what died...

    So I guess that failure was high energy and made too much of a mess of the case to reuse the trans without rebuilding it in another case.
    DD1: '02 T&C Ltd, 3.8 AWD. DD2: '15 Versa Note SV, replacing.. DDx: '14 Versa Note SV << freshly killded :( ....... Projects: '88 Voyager 3.0, Auto with shift kit, timing advance, walker sound FX muffler on 15" pumpers wrapped in 215/65/R15 H rated Nexens.... and a '95 phord escort wagon PnP head << Both may need to go :( ..... I like 3.0s ... so??? ... stop looking at me like I've got two heads!
