    2.2 bottom end..

Just got a 87' shadow tI...drove it two days and it developed rod knock. Stopped because i heard it rapping, thought it was lifters but it got alot worse within 2 miles.

Well im throwing a set of bearings in it and hoping for the best, but i know i will need a new bottom end.

Best part, this is my third case of rod knock since january. Once in a TBI aries, replaced motor, then that motor spun a bearing in 3 months, now on my week old Shadow. Why do i have such great luck?

Im getting sick of swapping bottom ends.

Well, to get to the point I'm looking for a good TI or TII bottom end. Low mileage or rebuilt.

Not looking to spend more then $150-200. But most offers will be considered.

    Thanks, Rich.

there are about 15 TD's near me in yards. So far ii have dropped the pans of 6. 2 spun bearings, 2 with alot of play, one had no play but a lot of shavings in the pan(this one confused me), and one could'nt even crank over with a breaker bar.

threw some bearings in it and drove it home today, used 20W-50, sanded journals, brakecleened everything, oil pickup opened up larger, and it seems good sofar.

but i need a short block to start to build up.

I'm afraid I'm the one who sold him this shadow. I had no idea about the condition of the motor. I drove it 10k miles with zero problems. If anyone has a motor for him localy I will pay for half of it. He's a very nice guy, and the last thing I want is for a deal to go wrong. PM me if you got anything.

Yeah, I have a 2.2 motor in a 1987 GLHS 18K miles when it was wrecked. When we pulled the shelby VC it was still shiny silver inside the head.

We want $500 for the complete motor and tranny. You could sell the complete 2 piece intake and fuel rail for $200. PM me.

It is a short block, I needed the head and manifolds for another
projeck. I think that $150 is fair. The car that it came out of sat
outside most of it's life so there is plenty of surface rust on the
outside of the block. The bores look like new but there is a fair
amount of carbon on the pistons. The head gasket was fine when I
pulled if apart. I have other heads and manifolds if you need any. I
just wanted a 87 set up for an 87 GLHS that I am restoring. Thanks
    Brian
