    CSX in the 11's

After running 8.20s at the 1/8 track I went tonight expecting around 12.40s at best, but this car felt REALLY good tonight! I launch at 8 psi and hooked up great. When I noticed I was running 19 psi boost half track on the first run, I reached down and cranked the boost knob to 21 psi for the rest of the track to run this
    Run #1
    60'...1.897
    1/8...8.037
    MPH..86.79
    1/4...12.574
    MPH..108.52

Turned up the boost to 22-24 psi and launched at 6 psi which got me past me expected mark:
    Run #2
    60'...1.893
    1/8...7.909
    MPH..89.63
    1/4...12.316
    MPH..111.42

Running 26 psi launching at 10 psi:
    Run #3
    60'...1.863
    1/8...7.727
    MPH..91.90
    1/4...12.028
    MPH..113.59

Added 2 deg more timing to the 112 octane fuel running 26 psi launching at 15 psi spun the slicks some:
    Run #4
    60'...1.992
    1/8...7.887
    MPH..92.05
    1/4...12.189
    MPH..113.65

Boost knob was maxed out on my old school Profec B and 26 psi is all I could control without having my smaller vacuum restictor to correct the problem so I worked on launching, launching boost, and short shifting the 413.
    Run #5
    60'...1.890
    1/8...7.734
    MPH..92.29
    1/4...12.028
    MPH..113.66

    Run #6
    60'...1.910
    1/8...7.768
    MPH..92.11
    1/4...12.070
    MPH..113.53

My father told me we were not leaving until I hit the 11 so I guess I had to
    Run #7
    60'...1.869
    1/8...7.695
    MPH..92.39
    1/4...11.988
    MPH..113.72

After I got home I noticed the coolant overflow was full to the top and the radiator cap had been pushing out coolant. Either the head lifted or the 005 MP gasket went. I guess it maybe a good time to change the valve springs and save up for a good cam . Cometic and ARP Head studs??!!

I am enjoying my head studs thus far. Good job on getting the car into the 11s. That is a great accomplishment.

Thats awesome going 11.9 @ only 113 mph. Makes me feel warm inside. The idea of getting down to the 11.49 area without making gobs of horsepower just seems really cool

Any changes planned for next year?

Man, thats awesome! Can you post some specs on your car? I am running about the same trap, but I can only run in the mid 12's. A 2 stage boost controller would probably help me, I guess (launching at 24 PSI isnt easy). And then, I gotta get quicker with the shifts! So, what do you have done to the beast? 11's on only 26 PSI is impressive. (I know because ive been trying to get there for a year!!) Well done.

Thinking of taller gear, higher stall converter, bigger cam, larger wheel than the 50 trim....I'll do alot more studying on the logs and think of which way I want to go. Looking at the logs last night it's seems to be nosing off above 5600, but the low end/mid end power at 26 psi feels great.

    Sure:
    Non Common Block 2.2
    J.E. pistons 8.2:1 CR
Race ported swirl head 1mm larger ex. valve 2mm larger int. valve
This crazy IC I bought from a friend and installed Thursday which seem to help alot. Pics soon..
    t04e 50 trim w/ stage 2 turbine wheel .63 housing
    A-413 trans/manual valve body
    24.5x8.5 M&H slicks
    and alot of tuning!....
    Weight with driver 2759

After the slicks I don't have to mess with 2 stages boost. Just set it to 26 psi stall the turbo to 8-14 psi and launch.

Good info to know.....looks like you have a lot of work in that car. What are you tuning with? D-cal? Out of curiosity do you know what the flow #s are on your head? I am trying to compare your set up with mine to judge how well my car is tuned. I feel like there is more in it, but we are running pretty similiar.

You and I are getting similiar 60' times, but I am spinning coming out of the hole. Not a lot, but still some. I think the auto trans really helps you out a lot too. Perhaps thats the way I should go? Id really just like to get my trap into the 118-120 range and run in the 11's though. I think another 5 or 6 lbs of boost should do. We'll see.

    Thanks Terry,
Here is a vid of a 12.028 run againsta Trail Blazer SS running 12.80's. I found out the camera died on them before the 11 sec run . The video is uploading now but should be done in a minute. Sorry about the background I have some wild friends from Albuquerque, LOL. Here is the link:

That turbo can hit over 30 psi, ask me how I know, Those turbo's are a really good design, you can get over 30 psi and still make power, I think Lugert did at 36 psi,

Wish my dad knew about the Trailblazer SS before he bought his, could have alot of fun with it,

This turbo LOVES to be between 22 and 30! I'm about to run a leakdown test and see if it's my head gasket pushing the coolant out.

    Re: CSX in the 11's

    All is good!

I remembar adding some extra coolant when I installed the new IC Thursday and I guess it just pushed out the extra.
    Leakdown is still good:
    cyl1..2%
    cyl2..1%
    cyl3..3%
    cyl4..2%

around 1% more than I checked last.

    Time to hit the dyno!
