I'm hoping to slowly piece together a TIII motor for my charger

    Re: WTB TIII Head

better start buying up the major different pieces as some are already Ns1 and not easy to find. get a whole motor, it would be a lot cheaper, a busted TIII car can go for about 1500, cost ot build a full TIII motor, could be that if not more

    Sweet,

I gotta agree with Tommy. I pieced together mine over years and thought I had everything. Luckily, I bought a complete motor and then realized how many bits I was missing.

I have a TIII guru buddy that many of you know(lotashelbys) In the future I am wanting to TIII~568/523 3.5FD drivetrain a 90+ Shadow. Anyways we have talked about this a few times and a couple of times the words "NEVER piece together a TIII, buy a donor car" came from Jackson's mouth. What am I saying? take the advise one of the best as said, buy a donor car

You don't need a donor car but a complete engine makes it sooooo much easier.

Donor car would be more for a price saving stand point... harness, ecu, power steering hoses, etc all the little things that are TIII specific parts... like the clutch/crusie control bracket, the MAP sensor bracket, and so on... Then you get the 568 trans, bigger brake setup, and a few other goodies. that you can use or sell to get some of that cash you paid for the car back.

By far the easiest option is to buy a whole motor, or a whole wrecked R/T. I was in no possition to buy one when a local guy called an told me he HAD to sell his wrecked IROC R/T. I am super glad I figure out how to get it though. Someday it will be powering my GLHS..............some day....
