    lower timing belt cover

How do you stop that thing from making noise? Mine always whines, no matter how loose or tight the bolts are. What's the trick?

    Thanks

The cover won't whine, it will make a scraping noise. If your hearing a whine, try taking off each belt one by one to see what is making the noise. If its still there, chances are you have your timing belt too tight. To correctly tension, tighten it so you can just turn the front of the belt-longest section, 90 degrees-twisting it.

if the car sounds supercharged the timing belt is too tight. those covers can sweak if they are loose
