    Boost Gauge Needed

I need a boost gauge. Right now my new car's turbo is hooked directly up to the manifold.

I need more boost, but I need the gauge first. Arrrrgh!

Anyone have an extra of any sort around?

    Thanks!

    Re: Boost Gauge Needed

Is there anyway you could snap me a pic of it sometime soon? 14 is fine. For my daily (and only) driver, i don't want to go past overboost shutdown anyhow.

Also, with that pic, what would you want for it, shipped to 08540 Princeton, NJ?

    Thanks,

tomaro (thursday) ill go out and get it and take a pic...its in a box in the laser and its dark right now. I will also take it to the post office to see how much shipping will be. Whatever shipping is, i'll just round to the nearest dollar to make it even and its yours.
    sound cool?

    Re: Boost Gauge Needed

Sounds good to me. Sounds super, actually. However, I'd probably need to see a picture before hand to make sure if I can even use it. Might save you some trouble. For a larger TD, that GTS sure doesn't have much dash space.

    Thanks again,

I have an Autometer that will read up to 20. It has a ding in the bezel, but if it's for a daily driver it may work.

It's the sport comp series. Has the silver bezel with the silver face.

I could do like $40 shipped?

If you need a pic, I'll get one for ya, too.

his sounds more to what you need, but take a look anyway. I know, there isnt much space to put a guage in the dash.

    Re: Boost Gauge Needed

It does, but it's also too expensive for me. But thanks for the offer. I'm looking for something a little less expensive. A new autometer 30/20 can be had for about $45 shipped, and I actually need a boost gauge because my autometer with a ding in the bezel just quit working on me.

Thanks again, and still looking for a cheap one!

    Re: Boost Gauge Needed

A quick way to pop in a stock squarish gauge in that dash is in the left-hand driver's air vent. Pull the cluster bezel out (7-8 torx screws), and you're in bidness! Prolly want to divert the duct toward the floor or...

    Re: Boost Gauge Needed

Yeah, that actually sounds like a great idea.

So, basically you're saying the gauge turbomopar87 is talking about might work great!

    Re: Boost Gauge Needed

Pretty sure - should look like the basic Daytona gauge, but maybe with that weird light blue 'checkered' graphic background...which would probably actually go well with that car's color!

Edit: gauge install options are so surprisingly limited, I'm planning on buying an extra cluster to mod and install aftermarket gauges...the only other convenient place is that little compartment way down above the console. I've seen some other creative installs, but that's the only obvious place.

He's got a stock gauge from an '86 Laser...even the SLs didn't come with a boost gauge - how lame is that? /whine (heh)

Didn't realize what the prices were. I could do $35 shipped on it. It's an Ultra Lite, though. I was thinking it was the other one. I'll ship the light and ends with it as well. UL gauges are $65 new. This one is accurate, too.

    Re: Boost Gauge Needed

Hey Subliminal, I have a few extra boost gauges from Daytona's that you could have. I'll have to find the ones that work somehow...I know one is messed up. But if you want to meet up somewhere between princeton and ewing I'll just give you mine

    Re: Boost Gauge Needed

If youre cranking up the boost, ive got an air/fuel ratio gauge I am pulling out of my car this week. Its a Sunpro gauge. Not an expensive one, but its accurate. Ive watched it next to my scanner before. Im installing another gauge I got for Christmas that matches my other gauges better. Ive got no need for the Sunpro anymore. I just bought it 4 weeks ago for 30 bucks. I will sell it to you for 15 plus a few bucks shipping. I also have a stock CSX boost gauge, but it looks like you already have a lead on a few. PM me if interested.
