    wire harness upgrade?

Can I upgrade my 1990 VNT harness to a 1991 turbo harness, I like the fact that the 1991 harness has the fuse block instead of fusible links. I have the 1991 turbo SBEC already, I know that it is different than 1990 because of the coil driver. Also is it somehow possible to run a 2.5 cal on a 2.2, while I get a proper calibration?

I just put a '91 harness in my Shelby Lancer a few weeks ago with the fuse block (power distribution center). Read more here:

That's awesome, thanks for the info. I really like having that power distribution block. It cleans up the area a whole lot. Also did you have to use one of those coils that mount on the head.

Definately better underhood appearance with the PDC. And yes, I am using the thermostat mounted coil.

Ok, I got a 1991 turbo harness, and ECM today. I'll be working on the swap later on. How can I run the 2.5 calibration on the 2.2 for a while until I get a proper calibration? What should I do to the timing, and can I run 27 lbs/hr injectors in the mean time?

    Re: wire harness upgrade?

I'm running the TII motor in my SL using the '91 2.5L TI SBEC. It seems to run great, no complaints at all! I'm even using it with MP +20 injectors and an adjustable FPR. Driveability is even better than when that it was with the original logic module. I should mention that I haven't had the boost up past 7 psi because I installed a new engine and clutch at the same time I converted to SBEC. I have my ignition timing set at 12' BTDC just like before.

Also, I had a friend who used to own a '90 Shadow ES. I helped him replace the original 2.5L TI motor with an '88 2.2L TII. He used the stock '90 electronics without any issues. Had it on the dyno and made 184 WHP with 12 psi; 2.2L TI, mitsu turbo, 2.5" exhaust, TII rad/ic setup.
