I have the 2804 springs and I am putting them on my 89 Daytona Shelby with T-tops.
I read that the springs need to but cut, but my research wasn't clear. Do I need to cut the front springs, the rear, or both? One just coil? Thanks for your help.

supposedly just the progressive coils on the fronts. Personally I'd put the car all together, get it on the ground and check it. Then cut 1/4-1/2 progressive coil off till it's right. Also make sure your a-arms don't go past parallel to the ground. That'll cause a bad camber curve. Glad I have 2 sets of the 2801's
Can you take some good pictures for me so I can compare them to my springs?
you want pics of just the springs or how the car sits?
oooh look a pot to stir!!!!
if you want it just right the way you want it,
you will HAVE to do the job multiple times. Maybe you will get lucky, or you will settle for whatever you end up with, but if you want your wheelgap and stance to be perfect you will have your springs in and out several times. its a lot of work! better to go get started than look for the magic bullet on a forum.. no guarantees here.
also, as long as you dont cut with a torch your spring will be fine!! dont listen to the crap you hear about cutting a spring magically altering it in inexplicable ways, thats all crap. itll get a little stiffer.. but most of the ride complaints actually have to do with people's shocks/struts.
On a Daytona with Eibachs the progressive coils are usually fully compressed once the weight of the vehicle is on them, so in theory cutting the lower progesive coils would lower the car about the thickness of the spring for each coil removed. But as was described above the best method is to install them, see where you want the car at, take them back out make a cut, re-install, etc.

How long does it take for the springs to settle?
I'll get some pics tomorrow for you. I didn't notice the springs settle any.
I cut one dead coil off the set in my 93 Iroc R/T and a coil and a half off my 91 Shelby and 87 Shelby Z. 3/4 coil on the Iroc and 1 on the other two.
I put the uncut 2804 eibach in the daytona, there is a 1 inch and a half of wheel gap. How low can I go before I get into problem?
you don't want to have the control arm pointing up. Parrellel is to the ground is as low as you want to go. And that's from the center of the bushings to the ball joint.
I have the 2804 set on my Shelby Lancer. The front did sit a little high compared to the rear. With the car sitting, there is four 'dead' coils in front, and six in the rear! I got the front to come down a bit by removing the lower spring isolators. It still sits a little higher in front but it isn't enough for me to go as far as cutting a coil yet. I'll probably cut one coil off the front springs when I replace these dreadful GR2 struts.
Trying, Any updates to this thread? Just curious, was thinking about picking up a set of 04's because I think I want some more spring rate over the 2801's My 87 ShelbyZ is basically 89 spec anyways. Just curious if you had to cut a coil. I want a 1" rake from the front of the side ground fx to the rear just like my 2801's.
I cut 3/4 turn of coil of the driver side off and 1 and 3/4 turn of coil on the passenger side.
The the distance between the lowest point from ground on the driver side fender is 25 1/8 inch and the passenger side sit 25 7/8 inch. Looks like I still have to cut the passenger side even more.
Wheel gap on the driver side is about 1 and 7/8 inch.
how about front to back? You sure you have the springs on the correct sides?
Doesn't say R or L on the springs I got.
On my springs, the L and R markings where part of the part number on the spring. It looks something like 2804.002L and 2804.002R.
Well, this sucks to read. I have a set ready to go on the GTC. I'd like it an inch lower but I'm not to keen on the idea of cutting a progressive spring. I'd rather have it sit just as high than negatively effect the handling.
