    1985 Mahles??

    So I took apart the 85 shortblock out of Serious Wood I and found:

    Mahle pistons. Small dish top, with a small half moon cutout on the timing belt / front side of the crown.

    Anybody else ever find these??

    Are they the same quality as the T2 versions??

    Yep ... just a CR difference and pin design (floating vs pressed).

    you're talking stock 85 t1 pistons being just as good as t-2 pistons? thats cool. the rods on 85s are supposed to be strong too, very cool for me as i have a low mileage 85 t1 in the yard
