    Front crank seal info.......

Ok, just did my motor and the friggin front crank seal is leaking. I noticed that the aftermarket ones are a single lip and have always had oil leak issues so I called the dealer, theres is a nice import style double lip, part number 1-04273275.

Hopefully this fixes it. I must say though, have a TIII setup makes changing this seal a snap,

    Simon,
Did you by chance have the block line bored? Not sure if you bought in on the 4 bolt mains. If you did, you might want to remove those dowel pins before you put that new seal in. When the centerline changes... well now your rear main and front crank seal are not centered anymore. Lots of people either forget to do this, or don't know to do this.
How was the crank snout machined surface where the bearing rides? I know they make a sleeve for the rear main for our motors, not sure about the front crank snout. Maybe Chicago Rawhide makes one.
BTW- I always use Mopar gaskets, besides the Cometic head gasket.

Yes, it was line bored. I've never had good luck with the front seal not leaking but after using the Mopar one, its bone dry,
