    A525 ATF to 5-30w

I have a A525 to put in my car, however it was an ATF filled tranny. It has been drained, and I would like to switch it to 5-30w oil, but not sure how clean it needs to be. Can I simply drain it, fill it with oil, run it for 15 miles, drain it and fill it again? Or would it have to be disassembled, cleaned and reassembled? Thanks.

If your really anal, then yeah, drain it, refill with 5w30, drive around and do it again or just drain it, refill with 5w30 and forget about it.

Since it's been drained already I'd just fill it and go. I did that with my GLHS. No problems at all. Ended up with 200K on the trans with zero issues.

Well, I'm anal. So i will drain and refill after a drive or two. Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure if there were reasons (inside) why I shouldn't switch.
