    Rob Lloyd #1 qualifier

I was just checking the final round of qualifying for stock eliminator at Hebron, Ohio, and Rob Lloyd (Shelgame) has the #1 spot by a long way with a 13.86. Thats 1.588 under!!!

Nicely done Rob, but it's too bad you'll get whacked with horsepower now

The #2 qualifier was only 1.31 under, so Rob's got the 96-car field covered without a doubt!

    Bill Baker is #41!

Got a feeling it's not the same billy baker, though.

Amazing how the index is so far off from what they run stock, yet people are able to beat the index easily.

    Nice job Rob!

Also gotta give props to my old roomie, Tim Kish, qualified 22/119 with a 13.233 on a 14.35 index (-1.117) in Super Stock with his '99 "all motor" Neon

Yeah, major OOPS on my part. The car's never run that fast. The air was really good for the non-IC turbo enigne. nice and cool and dry. Oh well.

I'm gonna get ~2hp now. That'll bump me right out of C/FS, I can only run A/FS or B/FS now.

Got a Wally, though. For the C/FS class win...

1.58 under was an accident?!! If I would have seen 1.41 under, I would have thought, "oh crap, that wasn't supposed to happen, air must be a little better than he thought." But when I seen the 1.58, I thought, "he must be bored and decided enough holding back.. let it rip!"
Oh well, you'll probably still be a ways ahead of the competition. Can't you stay in C if you pack on a few pounds? Who are going to be your main competitors if you have to jump to B? The SRT4s can run in B, can't they?

Yeah, 1.58 was a big accident. I wanted to go 1.15 under. I had to add 75lbs (more) to the car to get to NHRA C/FS weight. And, I took the boost down to 14psi. The car didn't slow down, it went faster! I think I need some wastegate tuning. There's no way it ran that fast at 14psi. More likely it was up near 18 for most of the run. I didn't look at the guage. Plus, the starting line was terrible. I kicked up a bunch of "marbles" - I think - sounded like rocks rattling around in the wheel wells. I thought I broke something. So, I really wasn't watching the boost, I was listening for noises. I hit 5000 rpm at ~ 1000ft and thought "that's too fast" - but I didn't think to back off. I don't usually hit 5000 until just before crossing the stripe.

Actually, I was wrong. I think they're going to hit me with 6HP. Either way, the car was at 16.07 lb/hp when they had it factored at 165HP. At 171, that goes to 15.5 now. B/FS is a 16.00-17.50 class. A/FS is 13.00 to 16.00. The car was a "natural" B car; now it's a "natural" A car. They only let you bump or down 1 class. So, no more C for me. Unless I claim it as a '91 .

Yeah, I thought you might be wishful thinking when you said 2 hp. I thought this year you could go 3 different classes? Or is that only 1 up, 1 down, or natural class - not down 2 classes?

Why were you in C anyway? Was this the first event you've run it in C?

They let you bump up or down 1 class. But not 2.

First NHRA event I've run in C. There was another guy running in B. If I didn't know him, I'd probably have run him - I'm faster than he is. But, he works at MPR and builds a lot of our stuff...
