FWD-P, I need a headgasket and I'm not sure what to order.

I have a 1989 LeBaron GTS with the 2.2 T2 and a 555 transmission. I'd like a cometic gasket because I'm going to do the slip n' slide...and if it fails again I'll pull the head off and have it machined. I like the thought of reusable headgaskets

I'm just looking for a stock replacement.

Name: Cometic SOHC head gasket .065
    Part Number: FWD 44-0574

Is that the one I should be looking for?

    Thanks a lot.

    Pete

If you going to slip and slide, use an MP 005. The cometic needs a very smooth and flat surface. Your wasting your money if you don't have the head machined smooth and flat.

True. And, most machine shops can't get a decent finish, either.

+1. go with the MP 005 than get yourself a spare head, take your time to rebuild the spare. Than in a yr or 2 use the spare + go with the cometic. Any dealership can get you the MP 005.
