It should be 2.25". There are a few companies out there selling a 2.5 and 3" ehxuast system for the GT Turbo. Look into either AGP turbo as they have a very nice 3" mandrel setup (from downpipe right to the bumper). Or there are other companies out there (ie. Hearthrob) that sells a 2.5" cat back mandrel system.
