Opinions on Turbonetics trim 50 T3/T4 turbo with a stage 3 .48 turbine

A guy is selling a Turbonetics trim 50 T3/T4 turbo with a stage 3 .48 turbine locally and I was wondering what everyone opinion is about this turbo? It would be going on my 2.5 8v Van. I'm thinking it would be a little too big. Well let me know what you think.

Hmm... turbine combo is unusual for our vehicles, but it may work out ok.

I ran that same turbo on my van and loved it, it was a bit laggy so in your case, the .48 housing will help that. I say go for it. You do know that its a T3 mounting flange so you'll need to modify your stock manifold or run a header with a T3 flange, and you'll have to make up your own DP assembly as the TD stuff won't fit.

Thanks for the heads up Simon. The guy said that he had it on a Daytona so I'll find out if that what he really has.

That turbo will spool really well and should easily support 350hp. I used to run the Stage 3, .48 A/R turbine and it gave really nice response in the city. The .63 housing definitely makes more power, but the lag is also annoying in town.

Yep, what they said... I ran that .48 turbine side with a 60-1 HiFi comp wheel and it made some decent power

What is your HP goals for the van that you think it is too big?
