    525 speedo pickup in a 555?

    Hey gang,

as the title says, can i just use a 525's speedo pickup and sensor to replace the speed dens. sensor on a 555? I need the cable drive for the speedo in my GLH.

Maybe add this info to the FAQ on 525/555 tranny swaps?

oh, and while i'm at it, how do i get the 555 into neutral when the cables aren't hooked up?

    thanks,

    Mike K.

Yes, you can use the speed distance sensor in the 555. It'll drop right in there. Just swap the gear on the end if they are different colors and you're good to go.

To get it into nuetral with the cables off just grab the gear selector on the tranmission and rotate it clockwise or counterclock wise. If it's in gear right now it will only move one way. You can tell that you are in nuetral when the selector will move in and out of the case. Generally the little bracket will be at the lowest position in nuteral and ----ed off to one side when in gear.
