What was that person thinking when they did that to the interior? Holy cow! Other than that it looks pretty darn nice. They didn't butcher the car under the hood did they?

[IMG][/IMG] No besides the oil leaks its all stock under the hood...... I don't think the radiator is correct by the way it mounts but everything else looks good....

Yeah, it looks like that's an earlier TII rad or something?

Beautiful car! Nope the radiator is not stock. But the car looks really clean! Thanks for sharing.

bfarroo, I'm a purist, but even I have to admit that Chrysler really dropped the ball by not putting the bulge hood on the 89's. My vote is to go with the bulge.

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

Does anyone know if a regular aftermarket radiator (such as those sold by Rock Auto for the Turbocharged 2.2 liter 1989 Dodge Shadows), will fit in a 1989 Shelby CSX? I checked the Shelby unique parts list for the car, but the only radiator-related part I found listed is: "Tube-Radiator to Coolant Reserve Tank." I assume that probably means that the stock 1989 Dodge Shadow radiator was probably used, but I'm not sure. I know that Turbos Unleashed has a high-quality aluminum one that is said to fit with some modification, but I was wondering if the stock Dodge Shadow one was the original one used, and if any of the aftermarket ones will work?

The CSX has a unique radiator because it is narrowed to make room for the intercooler. Most good radiator shops should be able to repair or re-core the stock one but it usually is more expensive. I think I paid about $300 to have a new core installed on a glhs radiator.

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

The CSX would have had a specific radiator to allow for the intercooler mounting.

I had a shop in Lincoln re-core my GLHS's radiator, ran about $350.

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

the 89 CSX received the rad/IC out of the 89 TII cars. The 90 Shadow rads including the VNT rads are different. 90 was a one year rad for the Shadow. 91-94 was different and won't work either.

Thanks for the info everyone, I appreciate it. I came across a posting on Craigslist from a person looking for an '89 CSX radiator for their son's '89 CSX. If anyone has one in decent shape that they'd be willing to sell, their posting is at this link: http://helena.craigslist.org/wan/4032210280.html

Most likely. It ran really, really well on the way home and I just need to clean it up a bit and find where a small oil leak is coming from.
