Don't sweat it, Jake! Doesn't matter how pretty it is if it doesn't go! You have your priorities in order, in my opinion. Someone spotted your ride and posted it. Gotta admit you don't see very many of these. Keep up the good work.

    HOLY SCHITT! Hold the phone!!!!

Wal-Mart has full sets of 89 CSX decals on the shelf for $49.99 on rollback (reg. $59.99)... I'm gonna grab a few sets today on my way home! Going to use one set to dress up my Cub Cadet in a “Shelby” scheme… BAD ---!

I got a call last night from a bud out here in SoCal that works for a government agency. Seems as part of a routine trailer stop one of the cars in Cargo was CSX VNT #70. Get this, he said its the most original VNT he's ever seen(he's seen plenty) the milage you ask? Get this, 800 miles The cargo according to the paperwork is heading for China Presumably some speculator in China figures since Carroll has passed...

Very interesting. '89 CSX #70 was the one that sold at the January 2011 Jackson-Barrett Auction for $7975. The mileage at that time was listed as being 7,513 miles. It was bought by an Aberdeen, North Dakota classic car sales company called XL Motors. It was listed for sale for $16,500 until sometime this spring, when it was jacked up in price to $18,500. Then, shortly after Carroll Shelby died, it was again boosted in price to $20,500. Several weeks ago, there was a "Pending Sale" notice in the ad for it on the autabuy.com web site where it was listed. The ad link for it now shows as being removed, but if anyone is interested, here's a link to a cached version of the ad for it shortly before it was sold:

    http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...&client=safari

I was curious as to who bought it, and am a bit surprised that it is being shipped to China. Alan's probably right that it's another speculator. The only other one I am aware of being sold and shipped overseas is '89 CSX # 431, sold to Sweden's King Gustaf. He was said to be personal friend of Carroll Shelby, according to an article on Allpar.com. Does anyone know of any other Shelby-Dodges that were sold to foreign buyers?

Wait until the surprise hit when the new owner of the #70 finds out his car isn't worth 1/4 of $$$ of what he paid..

found out today when I took my car in for smog that I have the rear cat for a dodge truck on there! I have no idea why the p.o. would do something like that but can someone give me the dimensions of the exhaust right before/right behind the cat so I can get the correct one on there.

well if someone has put on a custom CAT you are going to have a custom exhaust size most likely. So you probably need to go measure yours to find out. I am glad I don't live in CA, those emission rules would drive me nuts!
