Here's an interesting article written by a manager at Garrett on the VNT25 Turbocharger, titled "Experimenting with the VNT25 Variable Nozzle Turbocharger." It is unfortunately missing the illustrations (it's from the Internet Archive, and often graphics aren't archived), but still an interesting read if you're interested in learning more about this unique turbocharger.

I'm pretty sure there were others as well. Let me know if there are additional ones, for I'd like to obtain and read them..

    Hi All,
I'm needing a couple things and want to loose one for my 89's.
First. ... ... Are there any suitable substitutions for the Fiberride Center Caps?
2nd ... ... Whats the Paint Code for the Wheels? PPG or otherwise...
    3rd . .. ... Does anyone want a Razzi Rear Bumper Cover ? I don't.

The stock turbo, or a modified VNT? I bet there's a pretty big difference.

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

Looking for either stock vnt or modified vnt. I know these are more of a collector/street car vs track, but I am looking to see where my csx-vnt lines up. so far we have run a best of 13.88 at 101mph, with stock downpipe and cat, no muffler, larger intercooler, cone air filter and drag radials.

Next weekend I will be installing a fwdperformance computer, that will add a couple of pounds of boost, and removing the cat. I'll post the times. hoping to pick up a couple of tenths.

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

I just put on a good boost gauge and this is what I am hitting with larger intercooler, cone air filter and exhaust removed from the cat back(stock cat still on).

    10psi 1st, 12psi 2nd, 12psi 3rd, 14 psi 4th. 1700ft altitude that led to our fastest time of 13.88 @ 101mph

Going to be upping the boost this weekend, stay tuned...

I just picked one of these up, so thought I would "introduce" myself. Keeping a log of the car on this thread, http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...ion&highlight=

Hope to have it presentable in the next year. Already started ordering the suspension!

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

I read somewhere that the optional Recaro seats on the '89 CSX came with some type of lumbar back support piece. I think it was described as a removable, wedge-shaped accessory? Does anyone know if this is true and/or still have one? if so, could a description of it be posted by someone that does have one? A picture would be great, and extra brownie points if there was an instruction sheet or manual that came with the seats or lumber support accessory that could be scanned and posted.

Yes, they did have a piece of foam that you could slide in the back. I do have a couple around here somewhere with the direction sheet on how to use it. I will find it and try to post some pics.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I had emailed the Recaro company, but they just replied that they no longer had any documentation or information on the seats.

Were you ever able to find those Steve?

Figured I'd bump the thread and ask if anyone has been up to anything on their CSX(s)? I need to change both front axles on mine as both have a slight tear in the boots that I noticed. I'm happy that's all I have to worry about on this one. I started wetsanding #414 a couple weeks back but it's hard to get motivated to do anything when it's been as cold as it has. I'm jealous of those of you in the south and out west where it's still like in the 60s LOL Any new pics from new acquisitions?

Also, I'm still looking to sell #212, and my brother is wishing to sell #299. We simply have too many vehicles and not enough space. lol... His us up if interested in getting one of these for your collection!

Pretty cool pic. I found on photobucket tonight of Carroll? (looks like him to me) beside an 89. Doesn't have hood insulation, but what's more cool is the various color SC's in the background!
