Thread: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

Yeah saw that little mod T did last year and actually drove the car with the 89 G Body shifter installed. Massive difference and I already got one mounted up in mine. Probably going to still send it out to MaddogSTS.com though have it reduced further.

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

I stopped making things that do not make a little money at least. The air dam broke even at best. If sales were double what they were it would have worked out. And since the fronts are still being make by someone else, I see no reason to take the project on.

Ok Johnny.....spill it........who's making the fronts? Ive talked to Kaminari and they dont have any nor do they have the mold anymore.

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

I had bought one from Kaminari shortly after I bought my car in '06. They are not exactly like the originals as there are slight differences that a trained eye can catch (beside the obvious fact of the originals being urethane and their new ones being fiberglass). Nonetheless, if they say they don't have any, track down the guy named ucku, he had the maserati powered '89. From what I heard over the years, he had some connections there with those guys.

It's a Recaro car, and all the Shelby items are present. It's stock, except that I have some Shadow seats in it and snowflake wheels on it right now. The Fiberides are not bad but have some a couple of gouges. The rear Shelby seats are good, but the fronts need new foam for the bolsters. A couple of very small holes in the Shelby fabric, but not bad. No rust, but quite a few small dings on it. Front airdam is not on and is in many pieces. The rear has a (repairable) crack.

I replaced the carpet and headliner in the spring, and pulled the engine to replace gaskets and a freeze plug. Then I shelled out $$ to get the AC working. I have a brand new set of window moldings. I bought them years ago when they were still available from the dealer, intending to put them on the '87. I think I'll use them for the '89, though, instead.

It's being driven daily right now. My oldest daughter has been driving it to school, and my dad and I drove it to Pittsburg for SDAC-17:
Haha all this time ive never paid attention to this thread...that was me in the red in the background lol...

does anyone have a good picture of the two pieces that make up one side skirt....Kaminari would like me to send them a pic of the pieces that make up a side skirt. Maybe from a couple different angles might be even better? Please send to: IMTHEBADGR@AOL.COM

    thanks....

Re: The Shelby CSX-VNT Owner's Thread

I just got mine back from the body shop. Had a new paint job done on it as the previous one was looking pretty bad. I decided to go a little different route with this repaint and had the black moldings on the front and rear painted body color. I also had the side moldings removed for now. I really like how clean it looks without the black moldings. I still have to reassemble the interior and change the wheels but I'm going to wait until spring to do that. We are actually expecting snow this weekend so my plan is to get it in storage this weekend.

Helf8704, the black on the bumpers has a texture to it, has yours been sanded smooth or left alone? The car looks great by the way.
