My brother (super60dodge) was telling me to run a 5.0 mustang oil filter to get a little more capacity, can anyone shed some light on this for me? Also, what year 5.0 for oil filter

5.0 is universal and it's a direct fit on your Daytona...

If you use a Purolator filter I know the part number is #PL30001
Not sure on the other brands numbers. I've been using this big filter for a while now and it sure doesn't hurt to have a little extra oil capacity and a larger filtering surface.
of you have room do it, threads and mounting base are the same, I get mustang customers all the time that want the screw center thing, guess you cant get it from ford anymore
The Ford 5.0L filter has all the same specs as the stock filter except it is bigger. Same threads, same seal, same relief valve pressure, and same anti-drainback setup. Other options are available if the Phord filter is too big:

how much more capacity will it add? isn't stock 4.5Q's?
Nothing significant in terms of oil quantity. What I mean by capacity is the amount of debris the filter can hold before it goes into bypass. The bigger the filter (generally), the more surface area the filter element has and therefore the more debris it can filter-out. Additionally, all filters go into bypass when the oil is cold or when the oil flow is very high (high engine RPMs). It's just to thick or too much for all of it to pass through the element. The bigger the element surface area, the less oil will be forced to bypass.
You should also see less of a pressure drop, which is good.
Mopar filter number FE148.

ok thanks guys, but was I correct on stock is 4.5 qt's?
I put a whole 5qt jug in mine on each oil change. After starting the car then checking the oil after it's run for a bit it's right in the middle of the full/add mark.
MO1A with a mobile filter
I am using mobile 10-30 full synthetic and a K&N oil filter.
