    1987 Daytona Shelby Z T-Top

    Location: Hammonton, NJ 08037
    Price: $1700
    E-mail: 61beet@gmail.com
    PM for Cell number

Selling this car I picked up a few months ago. Clean title, rust free, no accident damage that I could find.

    Details:
'87 Daytona Shelby Z Red exterior, Grey cloth Interior
    *T-Tops
    *T-II
    *A555
    *2 Piece Intake
    *MP Stage II LM
    *RFL BOV
    *Digital Dash
    *12 Button Traveler
    *Enthusiast Seats
*Heated mirrors (not sure if they work)
    *No A/C
*Full 2.5" exhaust SV included, no CAT
*6.5" crabs around, with "ok" tires, not sure how long I'd trust them for every day driving. They made it on my 5hr trip after picking the car up.

    Things done to it lately:
    Recent HG
    New Lifters
Putting another WG in this weekend
Changing the slider out with a roller and adjustable cam gear or can just include in sale...

    Issues:
    Paint is faded and pealing
T-Top seals leak (surprised?) If my price is meet, I will include brand new in box seals!
Scrappers are cracked, have a better set coming to me that will be included.
    Windows are slow, but work.
Passenger side mirror fell off, the reflective part, not the whole assembly.
Side mirrors don't move under own power, haven't had a chance to check into them. Spare set of non-heated mirrors included, along with reflective piece for passenger side.
Heater controls don't work, temp slider is stuck. Buttons and Fan work. Seems like the dash may need to come apart New controller included.
Passenger door sticks, opens and closes, just takes a bit of muscle to open.
T-Tops are locked and I don't have the key...

Some Pics, I can take requests this weekend. Feel free to ask!

    **Note Shelby VC NOT included**

    Any questions just ask.
    Delivery always possible within reason.

Gary, I have a few of the heater/ac control boxes sitting in my possession (that I will never need).....it may just need the actual unit itself (the cable assembly slides out relatively easily to swap units).

You said you'll be in NJ this weekend, if you'd like, you can pick one up free of charge and try fixing it with that (versus taking out the whole dash).

    Let me know!!

I've actually pulled the controller unit out in hopes it was the unit or the cable not being connected. The cable is definitely binding some where back in the dash.

    The heat does work though

    Re: 1987 Daytona Shelby Z T-Top

Ok, it's not boosting properly. I barely have time to work on it. Motor runs strong, no smoke, great compression, loud slider cam, brakes seem soft, but the PO replaced all pads and rotors, fluid is full..

I will lower the price considerably if you take it as is. Without t-top seals, I would probably lower it even more. Were talking close to 1k.

Send me some offers, I want to move this car. It is distracting me from my main goal and a possible SL prospect.

What happened to the white car, didn't have that front end damage in the first post.

    Sorry for being off topic.

Rear ended a BMW out of pity a couple months back. Trying to find the time to fix it still.

Do you think the car would make about a 300 mile drive without problems?

    Re: 1987 Daytona Shelby Z T-Top

I drove it about 150miles from where I picked it up. That was in traffic and on the highway. Since then I've replaced the spark plugs, SDS and lifters. I'd say it would make it, may not be as much fun without it boosting fully though.

If that was your plan to drive it back, I would change the oil and go over the brakes before you picked it up. The brakes are all new, but they just seem soft to me. The tires are starting to dry rot, but are holding air without issue for now...

Let me know if you have any more questions,

Just did a mapquest. It's closer to 500 miles than 300. Seems to far to try to push it.

Good luck finding a home for it. Just wish you were closer.

No problem Mike. In a week or two if your still interested maybe we can work out meeting halfway or so.

I'll still plan on working on it until it leaves my driveway...

Considering trades? I have a very, very nice fire engine red 95 LeBaron droptop with a new motor.

    Re: 1987 Daytona Shelby Z T-Top

I've just committed to buying an SL. So with this car around that puts me at 3. At this point I just want to sell it so most trades are out unless it's something that really peaks my interest...
