    LM to SMEC Converion L-Body

    Alright guys,... I have a '89 T2 harness that I want to put in my '85 GLH that is already converted to T2. Is there a step by step guide on how to do this? What does it involve??? Thanks

    It involves changing the bulkhead connector on the '89 harness to accept the L body one. If soldering 30 or so wires doesn't scare you, do a search here or at TD.com and find the wiring pin outs for the two connectors so you can solder the wires to the correct pins in the L body plug.

    From what you've posted, it looks like you have the FSM wiring diagrams for both cars, so you should be able to just "connect the dots" (or wires in this case), just splice the wires that would normally pass through the firewall on the 89 harness into the firewall block/connector. You might want to get another firewall connector in order to steal a few of the terminated wires in case you need to add some wires to the block.

    I've got a similar project I'll be doing soon, but I'll be using a 90 TI SBEC and a 90 Omni TBI harness. Should be even more fun than what you've got going on. Sorry I can't be of more help, good luck!!
