    t2 rad replacement

    87 tona t2......
My stock radiator still works, but it appears to be on its way out. I am replacing the IC with an aftermarket one. basically, I was wonder if any cars had a similar radiator that I could use. and I dont just mean TD's, I mean anything. I'm thinking monday I might just scroll around the JY measuring up radiators and noting mounting points to see if any car has one that might fit. anyone have any suggestions on cars I should check out?

the older civics have tiny rads about the size of a t2 unit.

I bought this one from summit for 200.00. I have a front mount intercooler so I have a little more romm. Not sure if you are doing this, but this thing fit is nicely and is thick. cools great.

Do they cool enough? Inlet/outlet oriented properly?

    Re: t2 rad replacement

When I had a volvo intercooler, I found it blocked too much airflow and made the car run hot. I swapped in a v6 spirit rad with stock t1 upper and lower hoses and it fit pretty good with a little tweaking. Overheating problem solved.

I only say this because I think you'll probably purchase a large FMIC and block the already weak airflow in the G bodys.

Now with a srt-4 intercooler, overheating is a distant memory.
