    Intake done

I finished my intake today for my 2.4 build aside from polishing it. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. It was a little smaller on the #4 end then I planned but it is dang hard eyeballing an angle on a radius when your trying to position something 15" away. I don't think there will be any ill effects though. The plenum is about 3.5l and I used a 65mm TB from a mustag (excuse my language). Anyway, things are getting close. All I need to do is mock up the IC piping then I can yard it all out, take the engine into the machine shop and start the body work. The light is near.

If you want to see more I have a project log started here.

Very nice. Thats gotta be one of the cleanest hybrids I've seen. Clearly custom, but very refined looking. Looks like parts belong. I like

I guess it's not really a hybrid but it kinda is since the engine isn't stock. Very nice custom pieces though

Truely amazed. Thats some very nice works. Assuming the welding is done by yourself?

Thanks, I'm trying my best to keep things clean and uncluttered. That was one thing I hated about my 8V. I'm alos trying to make things as servicable as possible. When I wire it I plan on using 1 plug for the whole engine so when I pull it it will be that much easier.

Thanks again. If I had put up a closer picture it would be more evident that I welded it myself. There is something to be said about trying to weld 3/16" to 1/16" to 3/4". It's not perfect but I feel it looks OK for an extremely part time welder.

Don't worry, it's not bondo dust. I havent even started the body work yet. You'll also notice the pretty blue cap on the turbo's oil inlet.

For the curved parts I used .065 wall bent tubing. The curve gives it more strength then a straight piece of tubing. That is the reason I bent a piece of 3/16" up for the majority of the plenum. OK, I didn't personally bend it, our head welder did but he is much better with the break than I am. It probably would have taken me alot of tries to get the radius correct.

On my project log I have more pictures of how I fabbed it.

    so 4" dp +holset = no powersteering?

Pretty mean looking. Did you make the downpipe or just buy a 90^ pipe with a v-band flange?

Do you have an o2 bung welded lower in the downpipe?

    Re: Intake done

Got the intercooler piping done (tacked up at least) last night. The drivers side turned out to be a bit of a challange but everything seems to fit great. Time to yard it all out, send it off to the machine shop, and start the body work. Hopefully be driving by late June early July
