Has anybody ever modify a MP head gasket

well i was in the process of putting my head gasket on my 88 Chrysler lebaron TII when i noticed that the head gasket didn't have the cross drill holes. I remember reading somewere on the forum that people drilled the extra holes and like the design better than the 006 head gasket. So i did that and it came out perfect . Has anybody ever done that recently.

The slots line up the CD's so DO NOT modify the head gasket.

Missed that part, guess he'll be doing a head gasket soon. I bet he damaged the firing rings,

Define perfect? messing with that area will weaken the firing ring which will result in a blown head gasket when you start boosting.

Re: Has anybody ever modify a MP head gasket

I did it to mine and raced my car for 2 days (10 runs) last weekend at 22psi and it seemed to be just fine. I didnt make the holes any larger than the old headgasket I had. I bought the wrong one and didnt want to wait for a new one, I figured the old headgaket had the hole in the same spot, what is the worst that could happen.
