SDAC-18 near or around Texas and Oklahoma! please
Thats' ok I'm in kentucky and I didn't get to go...But no matter where it is next year I AM going and it will be my first SDAC. This year was supposed to be but I couldc't go. That's ok though cause next year I will have my own car to take
Sounds like I left far too early and missed all the fun. Well Saturday was a good time atleast.
Thanks again to Wallace for letting me borrow his Meth.. and spark plugs... and helping me tune my van some more. Also thanks to Brian Slowe for giving me his G-valve after somebody sobotaged my MBC. Anyone fessing up?
Posting the first major leage failure of this event...
Thanks To Brian Slowe, Gary Mazzone, Mike Marra, Dave Lucidi and all for helping me tear out the trans and get the new bandaid clutch in!
It was a beautiful burnout I am told...anyone got video of "El Burro" smoking both tires w/o a diff ??
Here is a 4 puck severe failure..it even cracked the center hub at a spring as well as almost ripping the whole arm off:

The internets works for me finally!
No pic update at this point though. Justin's car seems to be the only casualty so far. But he is back on the road. He and Brain did most the work.
Many excellent cars at the show yesterday and long parking lot drinking sessions.
Today was the Poker run and Murphy and I only got lost a couple times. We made it the whole way and ended up with a pair... Doubt that's going to win.
Drags tomorrow, can't wait to see some fast cars!

Its just the advance auto parts special or something.
Got it from Gary (Relentless) Right before SDAC 13 so it has seen plenty of daily use and track launches/abuse. No brand stamp on it at all that I can see.

And I don't see the first van. Le Sigh.
Totally off topic but my RP 4 puck did the same thing except the whole ear tore off. Looks like a great time down there. Bring it up here next year and we'll show you guys how to drink! We never get to see any Shelby cars as it is so it'd be a nice surprise and then Simon would shut up about it.
Says the guy who lounged around in bed till noon My Arse was on the way to Fredricksburg VA (250+ miles from SDAC ) by 9 am after I fell asleep in the 300 following my stomach contents finding their way onto the tarmac
Of course we had to go to a tire store and get two new meats for the 300 Hemi, not a good plan to drive that far on tires with the cords showing... Guess what, seems those 225/60/18 are QUITE EXPENSIVE $404.95 later, we were on the road.
It was a 550+ mile day but yes I bought a TC Maserati 16V car. 89 Burgandy/ginger/black car with 79K miles. Been sitting at least three years and Patrick P and I had to install both strut asxsemblies, divers side control arm, axle, hub, knuckle All of which came out here to Pitts in Pat's and my luggage TSA guys opened up all the hastily wrapped greasy parts and probably set a record taping that stuff back shut when the saw how grimy they were I hope they got some on them, they did a shite job of repacking it and some grease got inside my duffel. If they don't make minimum wage, they should
Anyway, here's a couple pics. more later but I am way behind the group on beers as Pat and I just got back at 11pm.
Guy in the red shorts is Lex, the previous owner, he fixes golf carts, pretty handy guy. Not sure why he stole so many parts off the TC over the last few years though... Something about fixing another one. When I asked him if the 'other one' is a 16V car too, he said no. I asked OK, where's the axle then because it will not fit the other motored TC's? Memory was a bit fuzzy on that point though...
Wouldn't of happened without my codriver Patrick, no way I could operate a vehical this morning. I couldn't even see strait until noon or so. You da man Patrick. Pat Melendy, you owe him BIG TIME
You know, you can fix just about anything with zip ties, hope the transport guys know the brake caliper on the driver side is only zipped into place. It might stop, then again...

I was there!! At least, for a short visit on Saturday - wish I could've stayed. Talked with some nice folks and then drove back home.
