A520 ring gear and pinion

How many teeth are on the diff ring gear and also on the main shaft it meshes with?

Going to put this stuff in my A555

I'm getting the stuff from the tranny shop near my house. He's at this time pressing the bearings on my OBX LSD and told me he had the ring gear and shaft from an A520 that I was looking for.

I want to make sure it's the right stuff when I pick it up tomorrow.

If you have the parts, count the teeth and divide the ring gear teeth by teh pinion teeth. If they are A520 gears the result will either be 3.50 or 3.77 or 3.85...

That's what I'm looking for.

With the 3:85 ratio I have in there now, I was spinning to just under 7000 rpm in 4th at the end of the 1/4 mile with 23 inch slicks....

My car did the same thing on a shitty track the first time I tried spray on it. Apparently the track didnt VHT that far down the lanes... i was never sure if it was one or two tires spinning (open diff).

Regardless, it sounds like OBX / 3:50 gear might help then... if it dont, then you need some bigger slicks

Just picked up the diff, ring and pinion. 49 teeth on the ring gear and 14 on the pinion...= 3.50 got the right one!

Sadly, I don't think the car will be ready. I'm rebuilding the engine completely and upgrading some stuff as well. Some of what I ordered was back ordered and is only due to be received sometime next week. I still need to get the block to the machinist and haven't been able to because I'm missing a crutial item( what I'll be receiving next week)

The head it ready, tranny will be ready this weekend and as soon as the block is machined, I'll be able to assemble it quickly and get everything back in the car. Then there's the detailing...... that takes me a few days LOL...

I'm going to try and get to SDAC anyway, I'm trying to persuade crazy1eye to bring his car. If not I still might make it for a few days to hang out with the boys.
